The answers we seek so often externally actually exist within. Our bodies are intrinsically wise, no one knows you and your specific needs more than you do. So often we get distracted by looking outward, we get lost in the seeking and we forget to listen. We will be using this breathing technique to muffle the outside noises and really hone in on what it is we may need physically and emotionally in this time as well as what this time is calling out to us for creatively or spiritually. We have been asked to slow down, what medicine does that hold for each of us?

Distance Meditation with Kirat!
This class emphasizes using meditation as a tool to know oneself deeply; it's a way of becoming familiar with all the contents of one’s consciousness and becoming aware of the relationship one has to those different contents. The class introduces mindfulness of the breath and uses the body as the main area of exploration, thereby allowing the practitioner to cultivate intuition, develop internal stability, and remain anchored to the present moment.
Once you sign up you will be sent a zoom code to join.
Kirat Randhawa is a New York based meditation instructor and the founder of A Kind Rupture: an independent offering that implements contemplative training into client work as a method to explore oneself intimately. She is currently a student at Columbia University studying the role of contemplative training within the field of psychology and how associated practices can be used as instruments for individual and societal transformation.
We welcome Ana to our wellness program!
The intention of this Meditation and Mindfulness Movement practice is to involve your mind/being on experiences through asanas, sensations, sounds, and breath in the present moment. It is the act of paying attention to whatever you are experiencing with an open heart and without judgement.
By choosing to turn your attention away from the chatter of the mind to what your body is doing, the mind is able to gently quiet with practice and as a result deepen connections with oneself and others as well as build inner strength to move through life with more grace and ease.
Classes are Non-Refundable

Her approach to healing through tarot and reiki is warm and down-to-earth; there's no judgement, and no sugar-coating, just the space for you to be exactly who you are. Each reading offers soul insight and concrete tools for you to feel empowered and live your life as a whole and happy person.
The Akashic Record is a vibrational record of your soul's past, present and future possibilities. "Akasha" is a Sanskrit word meaning "primary substance." The Akasha is the zone between possibility and reality. It's where thought passes on its way to becoming form, so naturally all things that exist in matter or thought have an imprint here. Collectively, these imprints are the Akashic Records. Within the Akashic Records, you'll find your spirit team of guides and teachers working to help your reality match up with your highest possibility. Other people have defined it differently, but this is how the Akashic Records described themself to me :)
During an Akashic Records Reading, I open your personal records, to access your vibrational imprint and spirit team. I then channel information to serve your highest good.
With your Akashic Records open, you can ask any questions, or discuss areas of life where you need support. You can clear and heal old patterns, find inspiration, and clarify the path forward. This reading can be personal about your life, and we can also ask the Akashic Records for information on a universal topic. I've had really fun readings where we discuss the nature of angels, reincarnation, healing the earth, and plant medicine!

About Megan: Megan is a Coach to Founders and Entrepreneurs looking for support with their success mindset and holistic health. Megan started her first successful 6 figure business in her 20s and by the age of 29 hit a major burn-out that resulted in anxiety, depression, chronic fatigue and skin issues. After visiting every doctor from Boston to New York, no one could diagnose the root cause, so she resolved to heal herself through yoga, meditation, organic food and Oprah's Book List on Spirituality. Within a year she had detoxed her body from all medications on her own and had an Intuitive awakening. This prompted a career shift in which she began coaching other entrepreneurs on their health and wellness as well as helping them uncover their life purpose while focusing on how to monetize it. She also began consulting for Start-ups as the Marketing and Sales director for 3 different Wellness and Sustainability companies and was most recently the Chief Growth Officer of Stojo, where she presented the product along with her colleagues on the show Shark Tank. She also helped them raise their first round of capital, hire out the team and direct brand strategy. She now offers both tactical and mindset advice for entrepreneurs in need of both spiritual and practical support for their business' growth. She also holds a Masters in Communications from the American University of Paris, as well as an undergrad degree from the University of Virginia.
Then the practitioner prepares themselves for the session, usually in a silent, meditative state, by calling on their allies and helping spirits, as well as the patient’s, to begin to receive information and instructions about what is needed in that particular healing.
Depending on the guidance they receive they may take any number of approaches to the healing, using a variety of shamanic tools for the job. This typically includes some combination of feathers, rattles, drums, tobacco, crystals, bells, essential oils, as well as light touching and/or massage. Commonly the practitioner will sing, whistle, or hum traditional healing songs during the session. Since most issues come from energy becoming “stuck” somewhere in the body, the most common approach is to use these tools and techniques to restore the flow and movement of energy throughout the body.
The effects of a shamanic healing vary from session to session. They are often quite powerful, and a noticeable shift may take place during or directly after the session. The effects can also be more subtle, and take longer to integrate, sometimes days or weeks, allowing you to heal in a more gentle and natural way that you may notice physically, or through changing attitudes, beliefs, thoughts, feelings, and desires.
David Dormon is a trained shamanic healing practitioner who has been working with the Power Path School of Shamanism in Santa Fe, NM, since 2010. He has also trained with the Shipibo tribe in the upper Amazon, as well as the Huichol in Mexico. He runs Home Sweet Healing, a private healing practice in Fort Greene, Brooklyn. David brings great joy, humor, warmth, and sensitivity to his practice as he works with clients from all walks of life to restore, realign, and reconnect them to their hearts and to their higher selves.
Spiritual readings with Mr. Luis are a unique integrative experience implementing methods and tools from various spiritual traditions to understand the energy surrounding and interacting with an individual. Mr. Luis has given spiritual readings since his earliest years and has been blessed by his teachers to go out into the world and share the gift of guidance with spirit.
Shamanic Reiki joins with traditional reiki in its aim of bringing balance to the being. Shamanic Reiki adds in elements of crystal and stone medicine, along with the technique of energy smudging as taught by his elder curanderos of Mexico. Shamanic Reiki adds these elements to bring a greater in-depth balance and healing experience.

As a new season begins we found ourselves ready to let go of the winter and come into the spring. Join Mr. Luis on March 21st, the Spring Equinox for a Despacho energy cleansing. A Despacho ceremony is traditional practice in South American indigenous groups who offer prayer bundles that are filled with different biodegradable elements to offer to Mother Nature and to cleanse their spirits as well. It is a reciprocal energy exchange with Mother Earth and the self. In this Despacho we will be using fruits. This ceremony is a great way to begin your transition into the Spring season on the day of Springs arrival. We begin with honoring Mother Earth as she too changes into a new season. Our intentions in this Despacho is both to cleanse and to grow. We will begin with short message about the upcoming energy spring holds for you, a brief meditation and then the Despacho.
Materials: Please bring at-least 4 fruits of a spring nature. (I.e oranges, green apples, mangoes, apricots, grapefruit etc.) Seeds, beans, sweet candy of different sorts are also good to represent and intend positive growth. Also please bring flowers (an inexpensive of any sort will do, such as carnations) . You may also write any intentions on paper to be put into a bundle , or herbs you would like to add that have special meaning to you or that make you think of spring. At the end you will be placing them in a place of nature.

We welcome Naomi Annand to JL Wellness for a wonderful evening!
The art of self-practice: A workshop with Naomi Annand
To celebrate the release of her book, Yoga: a Manual for Life. Naomi is offering a free workshop to energise and inspire our community to self-practice as the perfect self-care tool.
This workshop will begin with a discussion. You will then work through a work-sheet where with guidance you’ll write a sequence that you will then practice.
This workshop is for anyone who practices yoga.
As a species we’re capable of remarkable acts of compassion and forgiveness. Extending kind-heartedness to strangers, going the extra mile for those we love. Too often though we don’t extend this empathy to ourselves, acting always as our own worst critics and forgetting to attend to ourselves. In order to start turning this compassion inwards, we need to make space for self-care, making sure we are able to check-in, relax, breathe.
We live in world obsessed with goals and measurable outcomes. It’s like we’ve been hoodwinked into this never-ending competition. With other people, but mostly with ourselves.
Too often, modern yoga gets caught up in this and is taught as if it’s a work out, just another way to chase the illusion of the perfect self. But the whole point of the practice is that it’s not exercise, it’s a celebration of who you are, as you are.
The Slow Food movement changed how we eat. The Slow Yoga movement can change how we move. It can change how we live, guiding us always back into the present. Because moving slowly isn’t easier than moving fast, it’s harder. It requires greater concentration, total focus.
Imagine how it might feel to practice if you were on the moon? Imagine the attention you’d pay to everything; the skilful placing of your foot and the focused smile, the conscious effort to embrace new possibilities, new ways of being.
Don’t be put off by this, embrace it. Notice how your mind will initially resist this kind of studied deliberation but smile at the thought with recognition and respect and then come back to your breath and notice how it very slowly guides your body into the next shape.
When you move slowly, you get away with nothing; your body reveals itself to you as it is. And this basis of an honest conversation with yourself, the only kind worth having.
This is a FREE event and open to all!
